45 St. Mark Catholic School students attended the Regional Odyssey of the Mind Competition this past Saturday. A group of 6 SMCS graduates also attended the competition competing under the St. Mark Catholic Church name in the High School division. St. Mark had their best finish ever with 4 teams taking 1st place, 1 second place finish and 1 third place finish. The top 2 teams in each division advance to the State Tournament on April 6th at East Carolina University-SMCS will be taking 4 teams to State and the SMC Church team advances as well! Good luck to all our teams!

Talent Show DVD - Attention 8th graders and other talent show performers: If you didn’t order a DVD of your performance at the talent show but you would like to, we are putting together one last order. Dvds are $20, $5 of which are donated back to St. Mark for funding for the arts. Please send a check made out to FLUX AUDIO VIDEO for $20 to Mrs. Burns. Order forms are available in the library. DVD orders must be placed by 3 pm this Wednesday.
Save the Date – The Spring Concert will be held on Tuesday, May 14th. 6th – 8th grade will participate. Attendance is mandatory.

Altar Server Training - There will be two training sessions in March for those students interested in becoming an Altar Server. They only need to attend ONE of the sessions.
Parents are asked to attend the first 15 minutes. We will meet in the Sanctuary.

Requirements are 5th grade or higher, and active participants in Sunday Liturgy (they attend church on Sunday and receive Holy Communion.)

SAC - The School Advisory Committee (SAC) for St. Mark Catholic School (SMCS) is currently seeking new members. SAC advises the Principal and Pastor on matters related to the administration and operation of SMCS. The committee recommends policies and procedures for the efficient operation of SMCS including plant/facility operations, implementation of innovative instruction and school sponsored activities. SAC meets monthly during the school year to ensure the quality Catholic education of our students. Members are asked to serve for 2 years.
Potential candidates should have strong verbal and written communications skills and the flexibility to work in small groups to develop policies and procedures.

Enrollment - St. Mark Catholic School is now accepting applications for new admissions for the 2013-2014 school year. If you have a child that is applying to St. Mark next year, let us know and we’ll send you an application form.
