Athletic Director's Message

We are excited about our athletic program at St. Mark.  Over 85% of our middle school students participate in a middle school sport.  We offer five sports each for boys and girls.  Presently, our soccer team is coed.  In addition, many of our middle school students participate in a Running Club that involves students in grade 4-8.  Our K-3 graders are involved in T-Ball, 4th and 5th graders have the opportunity to participate in basketball and volleyball clinics in the spring.

There is a strong athletic tradition at St. Mark.  Last year the boys’ basketball team won the league championship.  This is the first championship for a boys’ team.  Over the years the volleyball and girls’ basketball have had tremendous successes.  St. Mark teams participate in the Southeastern Middle School League in soccer, volleyball and basketball.  League members include Cape Fear Academy, Friends School, Harrell’s Christian Academy, Myrtle Grove Christian School, Southeastern Academy, St. Mary, and Waccamaw Academy and Wilmington Christian Academy.

We are excited about our new gym for volleyball and basketball.  This will help develop even greater school spirit and a sense of pride in our teams.  This year the volleyball team will open the gym sometime in August with our first truly “home” game.  In February we host the Southeastern Middle School League Basketball Championship.  Our athletic program could not survive without the fundraising efforts of our Booster Club.  If you are interested in being one of our business sponsors please contact me.  For more information about our athletic program please see the link below or visit my Athletic Director Page.
